Our three-dimensional world controlled by five senses has its limitations. The illuminative beauty of the radio waves for instance, eludes our eyes constrained by the visible range of the color spectrum that our eyes are naturally programmed to capture. If the invisible lights were brought to illuminate our visible world then our surrounding would become brighter. To dazzle our clothing with a touch of this illumination, Jenny Chowdhury has designed a WiFi Jacket named 802.11 - apparel that has integrated a hacked WiFi detector, an Arduino microcontroller, LEDs and extended electronic components to produce illuminated floral motifs on jackets by capturing a portion of the radio waves prevalent in our environment. The power of the illumination of the five stripes on the WiFi Jacket depends on the strength on the WiFi signals emanating from the surrounding of the wearer. WiFi is now no longer confined to the domain of our portable gizmos and has found a place in the apparel world as well.
