The ‘Virtual Mirror’ promises hasslefree trial room experience

Won’t you agree that trying around 10-15 pair of tees in the trial room is painstaking? And to combat that comes a concept called the Virtual Mirror. Just like a makeover machine, this one digitally displays an image of you wearing the clothes you like without you having to try them out one by one. Developed by Fraunhofer researchers, the whole concept aims at maximizing the fun during shopping by cleverly avoiding the trial room procedure.

The only real challenge magic mirror faces is that it fails to project a more realistic look of the shoppers, but this concept will also be demonstrated to the public at the IFA international consumer electronics show in Berlin. However, a lot of steps are taken to make the image in the magic mirror appear as realistic as possible. The folds and creases in the clothes actually worn by the user is replicated in the virtual representation even when the user is moving about. The shadows and lighting effects seen in the virtual mirror are also identical to those on the real person. Thus, this concept is truly innovative and will go along with minute modifications and is a godsend for the shop-a-holics!
