September 6- Grand day for the 'suit of lights'!

Here’s another instance of a designer creating something exclusive for his muse. We’re talking of none other than Giorgio Armani and the well-known matador, Cayetano Rivera. The latter is about to perform at the national festival of Corrida Goyesca and that explains the extravaganza behind Armani’s creation. Apparently, the costume has been fitted with lights which means it will remain aglow as long as Rivera performs. The costume is customized to the greatest detail, Armani having used Rivera’s favorite color greige. The shade combines grey and beige in a unique mixture.

The event that is supposed to be held on September 6 will not be the first instance of Rivera sporting an Armani creation. The matador has been seen in advertisements flaunting Armani wear. Here is how Armani explains his decision to create ‘the suite of lights’ for Rivera

Cayetano has that quiet, sophisticated elegance. You immediately sense a man who combines great strength and poise with humility and sensitivity.

Rivera comes from a family of traditional bull- fighters and his grandfather too saw a similar day when Pablo Picasso came up with an exclusive creation for him.

Despite all the excitement over Armani’s creation, controversies have not taken time to catch up. Italian animal activists are outraged at Armani’s decision to create a costume for the matador especially because of the designer’s prior support of animal rights. The ’suit of lights’ has spurred activists to call the designer a ‘hypocrite’.
