Recycled couture hits SAPU's Eco-Fashion Show 2008

Budding fashion designers at the Szkoła Artystycznego Projektowania Ubioru (School of Art and Fashion Design) in Krakow busy are following the footsteps of their predecessors by creating a special fashion line that will turn the traditional notions of recycling on its head. By utilizing environmentally sensitive fabrics and responsible production techniques, these designers have been able to come up with the cleanest dresses known to man so far. The collection features designs made from a vast array of materials including paper and oversized quilted garments and is being showcased at the Eco-Fashion show which marked the opening of the ‘The Fashion Academy Award’ – an international contest fro young designs that is organized by Goethe Institute, Quelle and EUNIC Berlin. I dare say the designs are really innovative, and if you can risk a paper cut, some of these would absolutely look stunning on dry, summer evening.
