Madeleines – Athletic wear for historical figures
Leena | Aug 14 2008

A woman has much more to her than being a mere homemaker. If you go through the history of the world you’ll find that some of its most illustrious women were deft sportspersons and brave warriors too. Angelika Werth seems to have expressed this fact in her Madeleines collection of dresses for historical figures. They are a series of twelve very aristocratic costumes that take you back in time to those ages when princesses used to play games like fencing, boxing, rugby and hockey in their royal courtyards.

These armored outfits made of felt look absolutely gorgeous! It’s a pity that women of today cannot carry such elegance when they engage themselves in games. They prefer to wear plain tees and shorts!

They are gorgeous, Leena! And I honestly want to try playing tennis in that bustier and flappy skirt. ;)

Thanks a lot Grace! I am sure you’ll have the entire crowd ogling at you if you wear it for playing tennis, and don’t forget to send me a snap of you palying tennis in that costume. I don’t want to miss the fun!
