We are becoming creative by the day when it comes to fashion and technology. And the recent example of the combination of two is the Dutch artist, Daan Roosegaarde’s latest project, Intimacy. In this, he has practically made the technology merge with our skin in form of the garments. Well, this clothing is indeed very innovative!
This project is developed by the designer’s lab, Studio Roosegaarde, V2_Lab and the other mind involved in it is of fashion designer, Maartje Dijkstra. Intimacy is about the hi-tech garments made from wireless, interactive technologies and smart foils, that become transparent. Smart foils, further developed by Roosegaarde, are the main component that have the capability of changing from transparent to white and vice-versa.
There is an illuminated globe or “pearl”, which contains a wireless design that helps the dress to get transparent. When the pearl is brought closer the dress starts getting transparent and when it is taken away, it comes to the normal texture. Well, it is quite a unique and sensual fashion. I would love to see the launch of this outfit soon!
