Gucci always has something to offer to its fa-sh-n following! This time it is a sporty look that Gucci wants its lovers to ride. With a predominantly red theme, this collection is named as the 8-8-2008 limited collection, Gucci’s creative director Miss Frida Giannini says about the collection,
Not only does red evoke “Happiness” and “Celebration” - two emotions that couldn’t be more appropriate to describe the excitement in the world of sports - but it also happens to be a very fashionable color for 2008! I also designed just 8 products for this collection, which mirror the lucky number 8 in Chinese culture
The collection has a special red bike and an I-Gucci watch, Gucci’s first ever digital time-piece! Apart from that Gucci introduces, La Pelle Guccissima, a collection of luxury hand-bags and a soft leather panda in order to keep up with the Chinese ideology. Another sporty touch to the collection is the exclusive sports shoes, for men and women, assembled in a fresh patchwork of suede, patent leather and gold trim. There is also a silver necklace that takes inspiration from military tags.
After much focus on the clothing range, Gucci’s foray into the time and sports market is enough to generate the eyeball atropy it needs. The collection showcased is very stylish, very Gucci!
