If you’re a book buff like me you probably would like to have your favorite titles around you. The cover art of your favorite books can be so nostalgic and strangely reassuring at the same time. So how would you like to carry around a bag made from your all-time favorite book’s cover?
Caitlin, the brain behind Rebound Designs, has come up with this wonderful concept where she makes bags out of old hardback books! Yes, real old books of fiction and fairytale and whatever you’ve. Each bag is carefully handcrafted by Caitlin herself. The bags, which can take over eight hours to finish, are made by removing the pages from the cover, keeping the spine as the bottom of the purse and using fabric to finish off the sides.
Caitlin also makes special efforts to find the most unique fabrics and recycling books that are old or being discarded. Even the pages are not thrown away and the customers can have them shipped along with the crafted bag. Design and availability depend on the designer.
