The fashion world remembers the eighties as the years of heinous fashion crimes that just cannot be forgiven. The perms that resembled a cuckoo’s nest, hammer pants that came with the huge billowing crotch and the much coveted double denim trend that was mass fashion foul. The last one, guys, has sadly made a comeback this fashion season. Kanye West was recently seen carrying the trend with much ease and so were the models catwalking William Rast’s Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009/2010 collection. The double denim trend is back, but I really don’t think it is here to stay for long. To start with, it looks so blah, so dull and it gives you such a washed-out, monotonous look. I mean, we have so many colors and plenty of textures to experiment with. So why should anybody be draped in yards of boring acid-washed denims?
