However, designer Anne Morgan has come up with a whole new concept of storage and safe-keeping. She calls them Digital Safe-Keeps.
We are living in an age where photographs are no longer made of paper and files are no longer things that are kept in large steel cabinets. Today, one can actually hold a lifetime of memories and information in a necklace or a ring. Anne Morgan’s jewelry has integrated USB drives, these things can be plugged into a computer anywhere, anytime and your personal files and data can be transported wherever you go. The designer says that she created the line after hearing the following story …
The only thing I want to leave to my children is the memory of my first-born child. Lucia was born on September 6th, 2003, and died 8 days later. All the photographs we possess, and the songs written for her by her Dad, are on the USB memory stick that is contained inside the ring. Our lives have moved on with another daughter born 15 months on. It is difficult to bring Lucia’s name into everyday life. This ring allows her life to be marked and celebrated. She will not be forgotten from one generation to the next.
