Charity in mind, Nixon uses guitars to make watches!

International watch label Nixon has charitable pursuits these days. Teaming up with it are names like Ringo Starr, Jack Black, Joy Bryant and Tristan Prettyman. It’s through the LTD collection that the company intends to raise money for the Tony Hawk Foundation and the Musicares MAP Fund. While the former has activities revolving around the upliftment of children the latter assists musicians addicted to drugs to have a safer and better recovery.

Though the creation of the LTD collection can be credited to people like Starr, Black and even bands like the Fall Out Boy, the credit of coming up with the entire concept of making watches out of old guitars goes to Tom Dumont, the lead guitarist of band No Doubt. Upon Dumont’s request artisans at Nixon laid the fret out in a chain of chunky rectangular pieces so to comprise the wristband.

Performers and artists behind the LTD collection put up a similar effort, only this time they drew out their imagination on the frets themselves. While Jack Black came up with a fiend, Ringo Starr used his skills to etch stars and the others too had lots of intricate detailing to exhibit.

Stocks are limited, for each celebrity got only 14 inch square space to draw out their thoughts! Do watch out for the LTD collection that’s priced in the range of $350 and $1500.
