Bulletproof attire had for so long been exclusively for the VVIPs and the security personnel. But Columbian designer Miguel Caballero has brought the bulletproof dressing style to the shops of countries with dismal law and order situation. Starting from his homeland Columbia’s capital Bogotá in 1992, Caballero traveled to 19 other countries, the latest one being South Africa. The bulletproof clothing line includes suits, suede and leather jackets, raincoats, shirts, vests and denims for both men and women. These clothes can withstand shots from any firearm, from 9mm pistols to AK-47s. Extra stab-proof is also provided for those who want to remain doubly secured. However, the high cost of Caballero clothes make it accessible only to the wealthy in South Africa who can now travel without guns for self-defense!
