Bio-mimicry comes to umbrellas with the Parashell
Asmita | Jul 2 2008

With the invasion of technology and cars in our lives, we have sort of forgotten the whole umbrella culture that made everyone look so elegant in years gone by. But Canadian-born, Tokyo-based John Di Cesare of Di Cesare Designs Inc is hell bent on reviving that epitome of refinement and his Parashell umbrellas and parasols are aimed at doing just that. The unique umbrellas essentially draw from the traditional Japanese umbrella-making art and take it to the next level by infusing the designs with a hint of bio-mimicry- yes ladies and gentleman, the Parashell umbrellas can be found imitating the shapes of sea shells and even garden vegetables! Now, where can I get myself one of those?
