Costume Designer Patricia Field has teamed up with Mattel to design a collection of Barbie-inspired sportswear, handbags and jewelry. The line ranges from vintage-inspired to contemporary pieces like graffiti print hoodies and t-shirts along with Barbie logo nameplate necklaces and accessories inscribed with the Barbie silhouette gold logo plaque. Richard Dickson of Mattel explains:
I think Barbie is all about relevance, and we like to think of ourselves as on the cusp of everything relevant from a cultural perspective. There isn’t a better, more relevant stylist in the world than Pat Field. And her sense of style can work with anything, from the most conservative, to the highly eclectic, and really, that is what Barbie is. She’s elastic, she’s plastic, and she’s able to represent all sorts of different looks.
Well I’m sure gals must be waiting to get their hands on one of these.
